Rhythmistic Visual Artiste Professor Turtel Onli opens his "Rhythmistic Residency" at Hyde Park Art Center July 7th , 2020

CHICAGO: Rhythmistic Visual Artiste Professor Turtel Onli will open his
"Rhythmistic Residency" July 7, 2020  per the vital generosity of the Hyde Park Art Center's Jackman Goldwasser Residency located at 5020 South Cornell, Phone 773-324-5520 on Chicago's southeast side in the Hyde Park community.

Onli is honored to be sharing this aspect of his practice that dates back to the late 1980s when he started reclaiming and re-contextualizing lost, stolen and mis-contextualized traditional African icons and important artifacts.
This future-primitif approach to shifting the commercial value narrative from that of the current owners to those with more of a direct legacy connection.....
such as Black Americans' connections with all things African or other honest investors.

Onli has since opened this practice to embrace a variety of world icons in producing these amazing quilts.  He is excited about how this grew into a brilliant collaboration with master quilter Patrick Whalen.

Onli plans to offer showcases for art lovers, acquisition  opportunities for smart collectors and serious museum level curators, discussions and practice demos as Covid related guidelines permit.

In the past these Rhythmistic Quilts were exhibited at the
African American Cultural Center of the University of Illinois at Chicago
The Box Factory For the Arts in St. Joseph Michigan
The AFAM Center For Arts
The House of Blues
The Munster Center For Visual & Performing Arts
ONLI STUDIOS and the Bridgeport Art Center
